What we store

When you finish the Daily puzzle, the game saves your result (whether you trapped the cat, and in how many moves) in the localStorage of your browser. We use it only to show your result if you open the page again on the same day. This data stays on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Random games are not saved. You can delete the saved Daily results at any time by clearing the site data for trapthecatgame.com in your browser settings.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to learn how many people visit the site, which pages they open, how long they stay and which websites or searches brought them here. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart, and it collects technical data such as your browser, device type and approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not send your name, email address or any other personal details to Google Analytics, and we do not use it to show ads.

Google processes this data under its own terms. Seehow Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install theGoogle Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The game works the same either way.

Ads and other third parties

The site shows no ads and loads no third-party scripts other than Google Analytics. It loads no web fonts. If this changes, we will update this page before the change goes live.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages and protect the service. See theCloudflare privacy policy for details.

Children

The site does not ask for or knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The only data collected is the visit data described under Analytics and cookies.
